Kiva Murphy is an irish actress, improvisor and comedian living in Barcelona.
I am one of those typical artistic people who will do most things, if people will pay me enough or if it sounds interesting/ inspiring. I always have lots of projects on…so that is a good sign, but I do worry about spreading my self too thin, the challenge is always so exciting that I find it hard to say no. So please, ask away.

ABOUT KIVA
Kiva has realised (happily) that Improv has completely taken over her life. In the past two years she has been lucky enough to join Barcelona Improv Group both as a performer with the house team and work as a teacher with them teaching a wide range of classes.
She developed a brand new curriculum mixing her clowning and improv backgrounds to meld these two art forms together which resulted in 8 improvisors taking to the stage after 10 weeks of intense training to show the world their clown alter egos.
In a very short space of time she has gone on to teach at international improv festivals around Europe such as Sofia Festival in Bulgaria, SWIMP fest in Sweden, Yes Finland in Tampere and even performed and hosted BIG IF 6 with two of her improv teams. Her Improv Duo Gladys and Mabel has been performing around Barcelona to great success and sold out crowds and her team 3.5% are getting stronger and more well known around Europe at a rapid rate.
As a improvisor and as teacher Kiva blends together the playfulness that she has garnered from working in clown, her filmic eye from growing up having her parents work in production and her diligence from grafting for many years as an actress and knowing that hard work pays off.
Acting wise, she recently finished filming Los Europeos from acclaimed Goya winning director Victor García León and an amazing short - El Productor, directed and produced by award winning director Oriol Cardus and is preparing projects for later in 2020. As she is writing this Covid- 19 has Barcelona on complete shut down.. so we will see what artistic projects come out after this storm passes.
A different side of comedy is of course comedy writing, she has a sketch comedy group called Table Read which are in the final stages of getting some videos out there on youtube.
Kiva also runs her own theatre company No Guilty Bones with which she has written, devised and directed award winnings hows that have taken Edinburgh Fringe, Mimetic Festival, Ottawa Fringe, Toronto Fringe by storm. Her latest shows have toured Spain, Portugal, NYC, Canada and the UK. She is set to make a new show in 2020 which will tour the festival circuit as well as touring her previous hit show MATCH to the festivals in 2019/2020.
